Karnataka Police in a joint operation with Assam’s Dispur police arrested a cyber criminal from Ganeshguri area of Guwahati, Assam on Thursday night.
The accused identified as Rahul Roy, who was wanted in a cyber fraud case in Bengaluru. He is accused of running a large online scam, where he posed as a police officer to blackmail people. His fraud led to the extortion of Rs 3.8 crore from victims. As a result, he was one of the most-wanted criminals by the Bengaluru Cyber Cell.

After his arrest, police are investigating to find out more about Roy’s operations.
According to police report, the accused ran the cyber scam from Goalpara in Assam.
The police team currently conducting raids in Goalpara to uncover more details about it. Further investigation is going on.
