Bengaluru, June 11, 2024: Kannada Popular Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has detained by Bengaluru Police today in connection with a Renuka Swamy Murder Case. Among him nine other associates also detained in the same case.
Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa detained by the police, today from his farmhouse in Myshore. He will take to Bengaluru for questioning, police said.
According to police, the actor detained in a case related murder of a youth named Renuka Swamy, of Chitadurga area. The Youth Renuka Swamy was murdered on June 8. Renuka Swamy worked with a pharmacy company and hailed from Chitradurga. His dead body found next day on June 9 in a drain in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru.
It is said that the youth had posted some offensive message on social media to an film actress close to Darshan, the police said.
City Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the detention of the 47 years old actor Darshan.
He also said, “The victim has identified as S Renuka Swamy of 33 age of Chitradurga. The body was recovered from the drain in Kamakshipalya, the western part of the city.”
It has been said that he was kidnapped from Chitradurga and killed in Kamakshipalya. The police came to know about the murder when the locals reported about the dead body which discovered dragging by a stray dog from the drain. The dead body was sent for postmortem and the forensic report confirmed them that he was murdered.
Investigation is under way. The police arrested some suspects and interrogate them. Based on their confession the police arrested the actor, sources said. The police inquiring the case carefully whether Darshan was directly involved in the case. Police have provided tight security at the Actor’s house at RR Nagar.
