Hackathon on 3D Printing successfully completed at Assam University.

The Stage 1 of Ideation hackathon organized by Guwahati-based government agency Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON) on 3D printing held yesterday, June 25, 2024, at Assam University, Silchar.

Ten teams with a total of eighty people participated in the event. Participants showcase their talent in 3D printing technology through their innovative ideas. Among them three winning teams awarded Rs.11,000 each. The winning teams are Probir Modak (Career Study), AUS 3D Pharma and Leofelis Instrument Private Limited.

Assam University Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeev Mohan Pant (via online) was present in the programme. University in-charge Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Sen, Prof. MK Sinha, Prof. Devmalya Ghosh, Dr. Ajita Tiwari, Dr. Sudhangsu Sekhar Sahu, Mrs. Garima Seth, Mr. TiE Senior Director Nitin Aggarwal, Neeraj Pandey, Mrs. Kavya Chadha of The Indus Entrepreneurs – TiE and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Winners of Stage 1 will received expert Guidance for Hackathon 3D Printing Stage 2 competition

The winners will receive guide and prepared for the second round of Hackathon along with other winners from different states. Expert help will also be provided to refine their talent and ideas. The Stage 2 will reveal the main hackathon at the All India level. In this stage participants will be able to transform their competition winning concept into original 3D printed version.

Meanwhile the final winner who creates the most interesting and innovative 3D printing concept will awarded with the most attractive cash prize. This will include Rs 50 lakh in cash and various other gifts. The winning idea in the North East will be established and implemented by partner educational institutes. The hackathon originally developed by Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON) to select and nurture the talented youth of the North East region. It has taken up under the Digital Design and 3D Printing Center of Excellence in Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) project in collaboration with other government agencies located in Guwahati.

According to information, the first phase of the hackathon started on June 7 in Assam and held in each capital of the North-Eastern states.
