Meghalaya Landslide: For a few days heavily rainfall took place in northeastern part of India. This incessant rainfall trigged several landslides in Meghalaya.
In Meghalaya ’s Lumsulum and Ratacherra areas landslide took place in the route of Silchar-Guwahati NH-6 which blocked the road. Hundred of passenger and goods vehicles have been seen stranded in the roads because of landslide.
Meanwhile, the Local authorities are working to check the damage and start clearing the debris.
They are also working to get things back to normal and reopen the highway as soon as possible, making sure everyone affected is safe.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a alert for extremely heavy rainfall over Meghalaya during 15th-19th June and in Assam during 17th-19th June, 2024.
