The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has officially launched on 15th August, the FASTag Annual Pass for private vehicle. This new initiative will allow toll-free travel on select National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) for up to one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first.
What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is vehicle pass which offers private vehicle owners—cars, jeeps, and vans—free passage through designated NH and NE toll plazas without paying the usual per-trip user fee. This pass is designed for frequent highway travellers, making long-distance commuting more affordable.
FASTag Annual Pass Price
Priced at ₹3,000 per year, the pass allows 200 toll crossings. It’s especially beneficial for those who frequently travel routes with high toll charges
.Example: If the average toll is ₹50 per trip, 200 trips would cost ₹10,000. With the Annual Pass, the same trips cost only ₹3,000—offering over 70% savings.
Validity of the Pass
The FASTagAnnual Pass remains valid for one year from activation or until 200 trips are completed—whichever comes first. After this limit, it automatically reverts to a regular FASTag account.
How to Get the Pass
Before purchasing, ensure your FASTag is properly installed, linked to your account, and active. The pass can be bought online or through authorised FASTagservice providers.

Documents Required for FASTag Registration
The FASTagAnnual Pass will not be issued for tags registered only with a chassis number. To activate the Annual Pass, vehicle owners must update their Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). Applicants need to provide the following documents along with their FASTag application:Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle
Passport-size photograph of the vehicle owner
KYC documents based on the vehicle owner’s category
Valid ID proof and Address proof

FASTagcan be obtained both online and offline. For online purchases, NHAI FASTag is available through popular e-commerce platforms as well as banking portals like Paytm Payments Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and others.
