Enforcement Checker and DTO officer arrested on bribery charge in Karimganj

In a resolute crackdown on corruption, The anti-corruption department arrested an Enforcement Checker in the Karimganj district. According to updates from the official handle of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, a government official was arrested red handed when he was taking bribe.

The official identified as named Abu Saleh Md Zakaria, holding the position of Enforcement Checker in DTO, Karimganj, arrested on December 20. He caught red-handed accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 10,000.

Simultaneously, investigations revealed that the accused, Abu Saleh Md Zakaria, collaborated with Sahab Uddin Tapadar, the In-Charge DTO of Karimganj, in a conspiracy to facilitate the unrestricted movement of the complainant’s vehicles in exchange for the illicit payment.
Sahab Uddin Tapadar, the In-Charge DTO of Karimganj also arrested in same trap in that conspiracy for allowing free movement of complainantโ€™s vehicles.

Enforcement Checker

The arrest underscores the commitment of the anti-corruption authorities to curb corrupt activities and hold individuals accountable for their involvement in such practices.

Earlier, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, seized approximately Rs 12 lakh. the cash seized from the home of Sanjib Kumar Das, the Executive Engineer of Sorbhog-Jania Division (Irrigation. The recovery took place on December 16. This come after the engineer’s arrest for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant on December 16. The incident highlights the vigilance authorities’ efforts to expose and address corruption within the ranks of public officials.
