The CID’s special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta on Wednesday refuted the authenticity of Zubeen Garg ’s alleged post-mortem report circulating on social media, calling it completely fake and fabricated.
While Addressing the media he stated that the document which is shared online has no official basis and lacks the signatures and seals of any authorized medical professionals.
“The post-mortem report that went viral on social media is entirely false. It does not carry the signature of any doctor or medical officer who conducted the examination. It also not have any official stamp or authentication. Such a document holds no legal or procedural validity,” Gupta clarified.
He further stated that CID has identified the origin of several misleading posts and issued a straight warning against those who shared and spread the fake information. He share that they are closely monitoring the social media, and strict legal action who found spreading the fake news.
Gupta also emphasized that the official post-mortem report is not a public document. It will only present before the court. He dismissed all reports suggesting that the examination report would publicly released as false and misleading.

Providing an update on the ongoing investigation, Gupta informed that five accused individuals — including Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharm will produced before court Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court on Wednesday. Additionally, Sushmita Goswami and Pratim Bhuyan appeared before the SIT earlier in the day to record their statements. Another individual, Devjyoti Hazarika, is also expected to appear soon.
The CID, he said, is conducting the probe meticulously to ensure a fair and transparent investigation. So far, ten Assamese expatriates in Singapore have submitted their official statements to the investigating team.
Gupta also confirmed that the CID is in direct communication with Singapore authorities on specific aspects of the case.
“We received an email from the Singapore administration yesterday and have already replied. The exchange has been positive, and we expect further cooperation soon,” Gupta noted.
