CBI arrest Middle Man in Bribery Case in Assam Involving CGST Inspector

CBI arrested a middle man in Bribery Case after accepting demanded bribe of Rs. 3 lakh on behalf of Central Good and Services Tax (CGST) inspector in Tezpur, Assam

On 21 July a case has registered against Inspector Rakesh Jangid of CGST, Tezpur and the middle man named Aniket Pareek. The complaint state that Inspector Rakesh Jangid demanded Rs.5 Lakh from the complainant to facilitate the smooth operation of their hardware store.

On 12 July the complainant reported that he paid Rs. 2 Lakh as part of bribe. The inspector instructed the complainant to deliver the rest of Rs.3 Lakh to the middle man Aniket Pareek.

Based on the report by complainant the CBI set up trap and arrested Pareek red-handed while accepting the bribe. Pareek has arrested and presented before the court.

A search operation has conducted under Bribery Case at location of Balipar and Tezpur in Assam as well Jaipur and Churu in Rajasthan. The CBI recover Rs. 9 Lakh in uncounted cash from Pareek Residents in Balipara, along with other documents.
