Cachar Police seized about 24 crore suspected heroin

On 23 February, Friday in the wee hours, Cachar Police based on secret information launch an operation in Dholai, Cachar. The operation was led by Cachar SP Numal Mahatta. There they intercepted the suspect and recovered 30 box of soap cases and four leather bags containing suspected heroin of 4.765 Kilograms from their possession.

The illicit materials are transforming from the neighbouring state. The estimate rate of the seized suspected heroin would be 24 Crore. Police arrested one person in connection of it.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Appreciate Cachar Police

Today Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took his X account and announced that drug has been seized from Cachar. He also appreciate them for this work.

Recently, there have been successful efforts to stop drug trafficking in the region. Just on February 22, Assam Rifles found 39 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 27.30 lakhs in Kalain, Cachar District. They got this information from a reliable source and worked together with Kalain PS to catch a drug dealer, along with their vehicle and iPhone.

Also, on February 20, the Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) worked with the Excise and Narcotics Anti Narcotics Squad in Aizawl to seize five soap cases containing 60 grams of heroin worth Rs 42,00,000. They found this during an operation near Zotlang YMA roadside and arrested one person.

In conclusion, there have been several successful operations to combat drug trafficking in the region. Most recently, Cachar Police seized a significant amount of suspected heroin, valued at approximately 24 crore rupees. This operation was conducted based on secret information, resulting in the arrest of one individual.
