Cachar Police Seized a Huge amount of drugs worth 8.5 Crore

A huge amount of drugs has seized by Cachar Police and arrested one person in connection of it. Based on secret information, a team led by Superintendent of Police Numul Mahatta intercepted a smuggler at the Assam-Mizoram Border at the area of Dholakal BOP.

On June 6 at around 1 AM police caught a person who suspected to cross the border on foot by carrying illegal items. After intercepting the individual police recovered 139 soap cases containing 1.7 kg of suspected heroin. They also arrest the individual, identified as Abdul Ahad Laskar age 33 years residents of Rajgobindpur (Napithkhal) in South Dholai, Cachar.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the worth of this seized items would be Rs.8.5 Crore rupees. The police registered a case and launched an investigation to find the main culprits.

SP Numul Mahatta said that Anti-drug Drugs campaigns will continue in Cachar. CM Himanta Biswa Saram wants Assam drugs free so the campaign will continue. Based on secret information we launched operation in Assam-Mizoram Border at the area of Dholakal BOP and seized a huge amount of drugs. We seized the drugs from 139 soap cases containing 1.7 kg and arrest a man named Abdul Ahad Laskar. The market of the seized items would be 8.5 crore.
