Cachar gears up for celebration of 79th Independence Day, the Administration has issued a heartfelt appeals to all the people to join the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign with pride and enthusiasm.

1. Display of the National Flag:

All traders in municipal markets and trade license holders requested to hoist or display the National Flag of India made of non-SUP (Single Use Plastic) materials at their business premises from 13th August to 15th August 2025.

As a gesture of goodwill, you encouraged to donate one Tiranga to underprivileged citizens who may not be able to afford one, thus inspiring broader public participation in this noble initiative.

2. Decorative Lighting & Thematic Illumination:

Owners of hotels, malls, and other prominent establishments requested to illuminate their premises in the theme of the Tiranga.

Decorative lighting, national flags, and patriotic motifs should be displayed to enhance the festive spirit and reflect our collective pride as a sovereign nation.

3. Spirit of the Celebration:

Independence Day is a time to reflect on our nation’s journey, pay tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and reaffirm our commitment to building a vibrant and progressive Cachar and Assam. A beautifully lit and decorated district will not only uplift the celebratory mood but also showcase the unity and patriotism of our people to visitors and future generations.

Authorities have sought wholehearted cooperation from all residents, stating that united participation will make Independence Day 2025 a memorable and dignified celebration for all.

How to Host the National Flag

Independence Day is a moment when the National Flag is not simply raised, but ceremonially hoisted — drawn swiftly from the bottom to the top of the flagpole, symbolizing the rise of a free nation. The saffron band must always placed at the top, whether the flag displayed horizontally or vertically; in the vertical position, saffron should be on the left side from the viewer’s perspective. The flag must given a place of honor, never overshadowed by any other emblem or object. It should remain clean, intact, and proportioned to the prescribed 3:2 ratio of length to width.

Let Cachar shine in the colors of our Tiranga!
