Assam Rifles has seized Rs. 500 Indian Fake Note of Rs 37 Lakh in Silchar, Assam and also, they arrested one individual, on March 25.
The operation was launched based on intelligent input about drugs but it led to the discovery of Counterfeit currency from the possession of an individual.
According to reports, Assam Rifles sized fake Indian Note worth Rs 37,28,500 in Rongpur, Silchar, Assam on 25 March.
Officials stated that they launched the operation based on intelligence of smuggling drugs. However searching the individual, the officials found fake note of 500 note bundle worth Rs 37 lakh. The seizure by Assam Rifles is a testament to the force’s vigilance and dedication to maintaining law and order in the region.
It also stated that the operation is likely to play a key role in discouraging counterfeiting and preventing the spread of fake currency.
