In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Assam Government has announced new postings for several senior police officials across key districts. The transfer order, issued on October 17, brings changes to the leadership in Sribhumi, Cachar, and Kokrajhar.
Numal Mahatta (APS), who was serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Cachar, has been transferred and posted as the new SSP of Kokrajhar. Replacing him, Partha Protim Das (IPS), the current SSP of Sribhumi, will now take charge as the SSP of Cachar district.
Meanwhile, Leena Doley (APS), presently the SSP of Dhubri, has been appointed as the new SSP of Sribhumi, succeeding Partha Protim Das.
The latest reshuffle is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen policing and enhance administrative efficiency across Assam’s key districts.
