Assam Police arrested a ULFA-I linkman in Guwahati’s Jalukbari area, Assam. This arrested come after the surge in bomb threats across Assam.
On August 20, Assam police arrested a key cadre of ULFA-I linked man in the area of Jalukabari, Guwahati city of Assam. This arrested come due to surge of bomb threats across the Assam which making tension around the state. The news comes as the Assam Police intensifies its efforts against the banned militant group.
The arrested Cadre identified as Pawan Darji, who captured by Basistha police during a carefully planned operation based on accurate information. The operation is initiated on the based-on bomb threat that targeted City Centre Mall on G S Road, which led to the mall being temporarily closed and evacuated.
During interrogation session Pawan Darji revealed important details about a linkman connected to the militant group. They immediately respond to the information and send a team from Jalukbari police, led by Inspector-in-Charge Pritam Das, arrested the linkman, tightening the grip on the banned outfit.
Further investigation is going on. Assam Police will transfer two cases related to the bomb threats by the ULFA-I on Independence Day to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), DGP GP Singh announced on Tuesday.
On 15 August in at least 25 location the ULFA-I have planted explosives, DGP GP Singh revealed it.
DGP Singh stated “Of these 10 cases, two will be handed over to the NIA team. We have requested the Central government to take over these cases immediately.”
