On Wednesday, a team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam arrested a government employee for accepting bribe in Doomdooma.
The government employee who arrested identified as Jukheswar Moran, Lot Mandal of office of Circle Officer, Doomdooma, Dist- Tinsukia, Assam. According to source, a complaint was received at the Anti-Corruption cell office that a Lot Mandal demanded Rs.40,000 as bribe from the complainant for land mutation related works.
Based on the complaint, directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption has launched an operation in the office. Yesterday, they trapped Jukheswar Moran red-handed in the Circle office, Doomdooma, Tinsukia when he was accepting Rs.15,000 as a part of demanded bribe.
In this matter, a case was registered at the CB Police Station on August 29, 2024, under ACB P.S. Case No. 66/2024, according to Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. After finding enough evidence against the public servant involved, he has been arrested in connection with the case.
Anti Corruption cell stated about the incident through social media. “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Jukheswar Moran, Lot Mandal of O/O Circle Officer, Doomdooma, Dist- Tinsukia after he accepted Rs. 15,000/- as bribe from the complainant in the office for mutation related works.”
