Assam Cabinet has approved celebrating 2025 year as Year of Reading to promoted the habit of book reading amongst the people, particularly the youth. The decision was approved on December 23, 2024 cabinet meeting.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma told to media that the decision has taken to promote the habit of reading book among the people especially the youth.
He also states that books fair will be conducted in all district across Assam through the year and promote reading as a habit.
Government will construct or create libraries to promote reading among the Government employees.
Assam Book Fair will be conducted in Khanapara this time for the first time to facilitate ease of book lovers.
