Around 10 District of Assam is affected by flood. But Among this district Cachar, Karimganj Hailakandi, Hojai and Nogaon affected most. According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority a total of 6,01,642 people affected by the flood.
In Cachar alone 1,12,265 people affected, Hojai 1,26,813 people affected and Nogaon hit the worst as 2,79,345 people affected alone. According to 1 June flood report released by the authority Kopili, Barak and Kushiyara river water level is still above danger level.
The ten district of Assam which are affected by the flood area Hailakandi, Cachar, Karimganj, Hojai, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Karbi Anglong West, Dima-Haso,Morigaon and Golaghat.
In Silchar 62,246 people are affected, Lakhipur 743, Udharbond 2628, Katigorah 32095, Sonai 14553 people affected.
According to reports 15 died in this flood. Yesterday, a 14 years old boy died after drowning in the flood water in Lakhipur, Cachar. The name of the boy identified as Shyamkumar Panika. He was drown while playing with his friends near his home in Lobok Bil Bagan area of Lakhipur.
At around the boy has been recovered dead from the water by the SDRF team. Upon receiving the news of the incident the magistrate and police arrived at the scene and sent the body to SMCH for post mortem.
Total 187 relief camp established in the flood affected districts with 96 relief distribution center. Yesterday, additional NDRF team has been deployed in Cachar districts.
The Cachar people will now can take relief as the Barak River water level is decreasing. As of today the water level will come below the danger level.
Road and rail communication in several parts of the state remain disrupted because of land slide and flood. Many trains has cancelled as because of the damage of track.
