Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will embark on an important two-day visit to Barak Valley on December 6 and 7, during which he will participate in several major public programmes across Cachar and Hailakandi districts.

December 6 Schedule

CM Sarma will arrive in Silchar on December 6 and then proceed to Hailakandi, where he will attend the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA) cheque distribution ceremony at Hailakandi Mela Field at 11:15 AM.
Later in the afternoon, he will return to Cachar district to participate in another MMUA cheque distribution programme at Borjalenga Field under the Dholai constituency at 1:15 PM. Beneficiaries from the region will receive financial assistance under the state’s flagship women empowerment scheme.

December 7 Schedule

On December 7, the Chief Minister will begin his day with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the much-awaited Madhura Bridge at 10:30 AM. The project is expected to significantly improve inter-district connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and boost long-term economic development in Barak Valley.

Following this, Dr Sarma will travel to Udharbond to attend another MMUA cheque distribution event at the D.N.H.S. Field at 11:30 AM, continuing his focus on empowering citizens through direct financial support initiatives.

The Chief Minister will conclude his two-day tour and depart from Silchar to Guwahati later in the afternoon.
