On 18 March 2024, morning the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam has released and operation where they caught red handed an employee of APDCL. This operation launched after a complaint application approved against the employee.
According to the Anti-corruption body the public worker means the employee was employed in the post of Switch Board operation of the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) sub-division 2 in Nagaon.
According to the complainant was that the accused wanted the bribe for the processing application for commercial meter.

The employee identified as Nanda Hazarika, Switch Board Operator-1, O/O APDCL, Sub Division-2. Based on the complaint the team of anti-corruption made a plan to trap him red handed. They found him receiving the bribe near his home in Nogaon.
Today, the team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption announced about the bribery in their official account of โXโ formerly known as twitter. They announced via post, โToday @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Nanda Hazarika, Switch Board Operator-1, O/O APDCL, Sub Division-2, Nagaon, after he accepted demanded bribe near his residence at Nagaon, for processing application for commercial metre.โ
Earlier, a Lat Mandal Gendu Mohan Nath trapped red handed by a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti Corruption, O/O the Circle Officer, Baitamari Revenue Circle, Dist-Bongaigaon, after he accepted demanded bribe in the office from the complainant for correction of land records.

In another bribery case caught red handed an ASI in accepting bribe. The ASI identified as Noman Uddin Ahmed of Ghungoor Outpost under Silchar Police Station, District Cachar, Assam. The police demanded Rs.6000 bribe in exchange of the vehicle of the owner. Later the bribe amount reduced to Rs.4000.
