A disturbing incident has reported in Dibrugarh, where a woman molested by two man in the Milan Nagar area. The incident was reported on Saturday, August 17.
Recently a henieous crime occurred in Kolkata, where a doctor raped and murdered, people of nation was protesting against the crime and demand of the justice of the doctor. In the midst of the incident this incident occurred.
According to reports, the victim woman of Dibrugarh who works at local shop, was returning house at around 8:30 pm. In that time two men on a bike approached her. allegedly touched her inappropriately and tried to pull her into a dark side of the lane.
The woman told to the media, “I left my workplace around 8 PM to go home. I needed to buy some household items, so I was a bit late, around 8:30 PM. While I focused on my phone, a two-wheeler passed by me. I didn’t notice who was riding it, but then they came back towards me and touched my chest and grabbed my hand. I asked someone nearby for help to chase them, but they gone. Later, I saw them standing near my home. When my brother and I confronted them, they denied everything, and one of their elder sisters insulted me for accusing them.”
The victim woman also said that the police immediately responded to the complaint and collected the CCTV footage to identity the suspect.
The suspected two accused have arrested on Sunday, based on an IFR logged by the victim at Police station. The suspects were taken for medical examination and currently under investigation.
The incident has also caught the attention of the All Assam Students Union (AASU), Dibrugarh unit, which expressed deep concerns about the safety of women in the area.
The victim voiced her concerns about the growing incidents of eve-teasing in Dibrugarh, stating, “There has been an increase in drug peddling, smuggling, and eve-teasing in the city. We don’t feel safe here. I faced this issue today, and tomorrow another girl or woman might face the same. That’s why I need justice.”
