Cachar police have again arrested another fake doctor in Silchar, which taking to a total number 13 in Cachar district. The fake doctor arrested from Ambicapatty, Silchar during a raid at a clinic.
As per police sources, a team of police conducted a raid at Healthy Unique Life Clinic and arrested one person identified as Biphul Chandra Nath, who practicing as a fake doctor Dr. B. C. Nath. Several fake document were seized from his chamber. A case has been registered under Silchar Police Station Case No. 978/25 under relevant sections of law. An investigation is going on.
According to SSP Mahatta, Nath’s highest academic qualification is matriculation, and he had no formal medical training. “He was pretending to be a doctor without possessing any legitimate medical degree. During our raid, we recovered several forged documents. So far, 13 such fake doctors have been caught in Cachar, and the operation will continue,” Mahatta stated.
Police officials also seized multiple certificates from Nath’s clinic, including one purportedly issued by the Council for Advancement of Medicine in Alternative Process, a practising registration certificate from the same council, and an MPD registration from the Indian Rural Medical Association.

Authorities clarified that alternative medicine differs from modern allopathic practice. Practitioners of alternative systems—such as Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, or Naturopathy—are required to register with recognised bodies under AYUSH. They are not qualified to practise allopathic medicine, as MBBS degrees are regulated solely by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
