Investigation is going into the mysterious death of music legend Zubeen Garg, a two-member team from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is set to travel to Singapore today to conduct further inquiries related to the case.

The SIT delegation, led by Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta, who also heads the team, and Investigating Officer Tarun Goel, will first fly to Kolkata at 8:30 PM before heading to Singapore. According to sources, the team will carry out on-ground investigations, retracing Zubeen’s movements and activities during his visit to Singapore — a key aspect of the ongoing probe.

Earlier, ten Assamese expatriates living in Singapore had already cooperated with the SIT, providing crucial details believed to shed light on Zubeen’s international engagements and his final days abroad. Their statements reportedly helped investigators connect important dots regarding the singer’s overseas contacts and schedule prior to his death.

During their visit, the SIT is expected to:

  • Coordinate with Singapore Police authorities
  • Inspect locations linked to Zubeen’s stay in Singapore
  • Examine electronic and financial records
  • Collect CCTV footage and documentary evidence
  • Question individuals who were in contact with Zubeen Garg during his time abroad

In addition to the Singapore investigation, sources confirmed that the SIT will also continue parallel interrogations in India. Among those to be questioned are Wajid Ahmed, a Singaporean national, and two yacht crew members reportedly connected to the case, to clarify suspicious communications and links.
