A youth from Silchar had gone missing in Maha Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj. Family filed a missing complaint at Silchar Rangirkhari Outpost.
The youth is identified as Surajit Roy residence of Kuarpar area of Meherpur, Silchar.
According to reports, Surajit left for Maha Kumbh on February 6 and reached on February 8. Upon reaching the Mela he participated in holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj along with his several friends from Silchar.
However, while returning home on the same night of February 8, Surajit mysteriously went missing.
Surajit wife said, “My Husband went to the Kumbh Mela on the 6th. He left home on the 6th, reached there on the 8th, and completed his holy dip. Later, he called me and said he would return that night.
I spoke to him until 11 PM, and he told me that he would go to the station, buy a ticket, and board the train to come back. Since then, his phone has been switched off, and he has been missing. There has been no contact, and he is still missing.”
She also added, “I have also contacted the friends who went with him, and they said they haven’t been able to find him either. They have searched for him extensively but without any success.”
Surajit’s wife Chameli Roy has lodged a missing person report at the Rangirkhari Police Station in Silchar. The family is requesting any information regarding Surajit’s whereabouts and can be contacted at +917086488054.
