Unnao Bus Accident: 18 killed as Speeding Bus Crashes into Milk Tanker

A tragic road accident took place where a speeding bus collide with Milk Tanker at Unnao, Uttar Pradesh on the Agra-Lucknow Express. At least 18 people killed and 19 injured.

According to reports, a double-decker sleeper bus was travelling from Motihari in Bihar to Delhi. The bus hit behind of the milk near Garha village. The impact was so strong that the bus was smashed to pieces, and people were thrown out of the vehicle. Unnao district Magistrate Gaurang Rathi said that based on initial observations, it appears the bus was speeding.

Unnano DM Gaurang Rathi stated, โ€œToday at around 05.15 am, a private bus coming from Motihari, Bihar collided with a milk tanker. 18 people have lost their lives and 19 others are injured in the accident. After the initial investigation, it looks like the bus was over speeding. The injured are getting treatment.โ€

After the incident Police and other emergency personnel immediately rushed to the scene and rescue injured people and sent them to hospitals. Images from the scene showed bodies on the ground, twisted metal, shattered glass, and scattered belongings.

Prime Minister Announced Ex-Gratia for Unnao District Bus Accident deceased and injured people

The Prime Minister of India has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the accident in Unnao. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the loss of the people in the Unnao Bus Accident. He expressed by stating, โ€œThe loss of life in a road accident in Unnao district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. District administration officials have been instructed to reach the spot and speed up the relief work. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured.โ€

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak arrived later to assess the situation and manage the arrangements. He said most of the injured are from Bihar, and the state is working with the Bihar government.
