A Robbery incident took place in Khashpur, under the area of Udharbond, Cachar district of Assam, where a group of 6 to 7 armed robbers entered a house, during early hours of November 28, and looted cash and valuables worth Lakh.
The robbery took place at the house of business man Ramdhan Goala, in Khashpur, Udharbond at around 1.00 am, overpowering the family by tying them up and assaulting them before fleeing with cash and valuables.
According to information, the robbers forced their way into the house by breaking the lock of the iron grill. Once inside, they tied up Ramdhan Goala and his elderly father. Armed with sharp weapons, the robbers ransacked the house, breaking open cupboards and drawers. The terrified family was forced to surrender their savings.
The robbers stole โน870,000 in cash and gold jewelry worth several lakhs. Additionally, they coerced Goala into handing over the keys to his shop, looting โน5,000 from there as well.
Ramdhan Goala shared the incident by stating, “Around 1 AM, 6 to 7 people entered our home. They tied me and my father and wreaked havoc. They broke into the almirahs and cupboards, looting more than โน70,000 in cash from the house. Later, they forced me to give the keys to my shop and took another โน5,000.”
He further revealed, “I was first tied up then blindfolded and even beaten me too to get the keys and the money. I couldn’t see their faces, but they communicated with me in broken Hindi. They also tied up my elderly father. Given the darkness, we suspect they might have been armed with a gun.”
