Two Poachers Encounter by Forest Officials in Laokhowa Sanctuary, Nagaon

The Forrest officials encounter two poachers and were killed in this incident at Charaihagi forest camp area in Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary, Nagaon district of Assam.

According to reports the encounter took place on Friday late night when this poachers caught smuggling fish in Rowmari Beel. During a routine patrol the forest officials discovered the poachers. A conformation followed and the poachers were fatally shot.

The poachers identified two brothers, Jalil Uddin and Sameer Uddin who was residents of Dhingbari village in Juria.

After the incident, the forest department took the bodies to Nagaon Hospital overnight. Many police officers and forest department personnel are now at the scene. They are there to maintain order and ensure security.

Earlier, on 21 June A Gunfight took place between Golaghat Police and dacoit ganga in the area of Bokakahat. In this incident one leader of Dacoit injured after a bullet shot in his body and two other arrested.

The police identified the dacoit who injured as Pallav Basumatary, part of three-member gang. The police team also managed to arrested the other two member of the dacoit. They identified as, Babu Saikia and Gautam Doley.

Police seized a 9mm pistol with four live bullets from the possession of the dacoit gang.
