Two Government Employee arrested on bribery charge. The name of the Government officials are Sahadat Hussain, a Lat Mandal and Manoj Adhikari, a Kanungo from the Katigorah Cricle Office.
The government employee was arrested after they caught accepting bribes within their office premises. They got arrested after videos and news reports surfaced online showing, the government employee accepting bribes far land related work.
This viral video of accepting bribe led the Cachar administration to launch an investigation. The inquiry confirmed the officials’ involvement in corrupt activities, prompting the District Commissioner’s office to take action.
On 5 August, the enquiry concluded with magistrates finding the two officials from the Katigorah Circle Office guilty of corruption. An FIR was filed against them on bribery charge.
Following the FIR the two employee Sahadat Hussain and Manoj Adhikari arrested from District Commisioner’s office in Silchar.
