On 2 April, Three Assam Government officials has trapped red handed while accepting bribe and got arrested. This trapped done by Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption.
According to Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam in the first trap an accountant employee of the office of the District Agricultural Officer in Jorhat district has caught red handed.
The accountant identified as Rani Bora. She allegedly asked for 10 percent of Rs. 37,000 as a bribe from a person to process their travel allowance. Additionally, she demanded the same amount from the complainant’s colleague for the same purpose.
The Directorate set up a trap, and Rani Bora caught in the act of taking Rs. 6000 of the bribe money from her colleague inside the office premises.
The Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam has said the news via social media.
The post by stating, “”Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Rani Bora, Accountant of O/O the District Agricultural Officer, Jorhat, after she accepted demanded bribe in the office for processing travelling allowance of the complainant.”
Second Trap of Assam Government Officials by Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption
In the Second trap of the same day a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam trapped two Government officials working in the office of the Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO) and arrested red-handed on bribery charges in Dhubri district.
The two employees identified as a senior assistant Dapendra Nath Brahma and BEEO Naba Krishna Roy.
According to some reports, Dapendra Nath Brahma accepted the bribe for updating a service book. A complaint filed at the Directorate stating that Naba Krishna Roy, in collaboration with Dapendra Nath Brahma, demanded Rs. 3,000 from the complainant to update his service book. Later, they agreed to reduce the bribe amount to Rs. 2,500.
To address this issue, a trap set up at the office of the BEEO in Golakganj. The Senior Assistant caught red-handed in the office after accepting Rs. 2,000 of the bribe from the complainant, allegedly in collusion with Naba Krishna Roy.
The Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption stated, “2nd trap of the day! @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Dapendra Nath Brahma, Senior Assistant, O/O the BEEO, Golakganj, Dhubri, after he accepted bribe in conspiracy with Naba Krishna Roy, BEEO for updation of service book of the complainant.”
“In the same trap operation, Naba Krishna Roy, Block Elementary Education Officer, Golokganj, Dist- Dhubri, has also been apprehended for demanding bribe in conspiracy with the Senior Assistant”
