A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Suprakandi area in Sribhumi district of Assam where a speeding vehicle hit three school students and fled the scene immediately. Locals rushed the injured students to a government hospital for urgent medical treatment.

One of the victims, Sanjay Namashudra, a student of Pallimangal High School, succumbed to his injuries, triggering widespread grief and anger in the locality.

Following the incident, students of Pallimangal High School, along with local residents, launched a road blockade in Suprakandi, demanding justice for the deceased student and strict action against the driver involved in the hit-and-run case.

Traffic came to a standstill for hours as protesters insisted that authorities take immediate steps to identify and arrest the accused.

The blockade was later withdrawn after the intervention of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), who assured a proper investigation and necessary action.

The hit-and-run case has sparked outrage across the area, with demands rising for better road safety measures near school zones.
