STF Assam Nabs Key Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) Operative in Kokrajhar Under Operation PRAGHAT.
Assam STF team on February 3, arrested a key member of extremist group Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) in Kokrajhar district. Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) is stated to be fundamentalist networks and Global Terrorist Organizations (GTO).
Acting on tip off, STF Assam, with support of Kokrajhar Police, launched an operation in the early hour of Monday and successfully arrested Nasim Uddin SK from Kokrajhar district.
The arrested, individual Nasim Uddin SK an active member of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) and even Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JAM) member.
He was close associate of prime accused Nur Islam Mandal, who was previously arrested in connection with the same case for extremist activities.
Official stated that earlier on December 17, 2024, he was on the run, actively evading law enforcement and attempting to escape justice.
On Monday Nasim Uddin SK was arrested in connection with STF PS Case No. 21/2024, under multiple serious charges, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosives Act, Arms Act, and Foreigners Act. Following his arrest, he was produced in court and remanded to police custody for seven days.
According to authorities, Nasim Uddin SK was closely linked to Nur Islam Mandal, another prime accused in extremist activities, who was arrested earlier by STF Assam. Investigations reveal that Nasim played a crucial role in acquiring weapons and manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), aiming to empower extremist factions and destabilize national security.
