Sribhumi (formerly known as Karimganj) police recovered the truck with 54 refrigerator which was hijacked on March 25 morning. Police also arrested 4 in connection of it.
Badarpur Police, Sribhumi and Bhangarpar outpost police in a joint operation arrested four individual on Tuesday morning who hijacked 54 refrigerators from Guwahati to Agartala. The hijacked truck was recovered from a warehouse in Masimpur, Arunchal area of Cachar.
According to police sources, the truck hijacked from Badarpur area. It is also found that the mastermind of hijacking the truck is the truck driver, Jabir Hussain Choudhury (Ajmal).
The truck driver Ajmal allegedly sold the refrigerator for Rs 1.8 lakh to Javed Iqbal Laskar, a resident of Sonapur GP. After that the refrigerator was stored at the house of Abu Sajed in Masimpur.
The truck was found with GPS tracker, the Badarpur police traced the truck location and conducted raid in the area of Masimpur. In this raid police recovered all the 54 refrigerators. Police also arrest all the four the accused.
Sribhumi Police stated, “A missing truck transporting 54 refrigerators from Guwahati to Tripura was recovered from a warehouse in Arunachal, Cachar. Tracing the backward linkages all 4 accused persons were arrested.”
