Sribhumi (formerly known as Karimganj) Police have successfully bust a mobile theft racket which linked to West Bengal and seized a massive haul of stolen mobile phones and components. Six individual arrested in connection of it.
Based on a tip off, Sribhumi police launch raids late night raids in the area of Railway Gate of Sribhumi town. In this raid police arrest six individual and recovered six sacks of mobile phone parts.
Investigations uncovered that the gang had been active in Sribhumi for a long time after moving in from West Bengal. The racket of phone thieves arrested when police detained a suspect, identified as Sheikh Aslam with seven stolen phones. Police interrogated the suspects which led officers to a rented house in the railway gate area, where they found 39 high-end Android smartphones along with other stolen accessories.
Police said the estimate value of the seized items would be several lakhs. The arrested individual identified as Sheikh Aslam, Nur Uddin, Tuta Sheikh, Hakim Sheikh, Amirul Islam, and Asma Sheikh.
Further investigation is going on and itโs also possible that it may be links to a larger mobile theft racket.
