A shocking incident took place, where a son allegedly murdered his own mother and buried her in Karimganj. The murder incident came into fore on February 25, after the dead bodies found.

According to reports, the disturbing incident took place at Putni Tea Garden in Patharkandi, Karimganj.

The accused son identified as Raghunath Chauhan, who is accused of murdering his mother, Laxmi Chauhan, and burying her body near their backyard toilet.

The incident came into fore after local community became suspicious after Laxmi Chauhan was reported missing for several days. Loclas also asked Raghunath Chauhan that where is his mother. In answer he said that she was not at home. They didn’t believe in his word and upon suspicious they went to police station, prompting further inquiries into her disappearance.

Upon confrontation, Raghunath allegedly confessed to the crime.

On February 25, Police authorities, along with a magistrate, recovered Laxmi Chauhan’s body from the burial site.

According to initial reports, the murder is believed to have followed a heated argument between mother and son nearly 18 days prior.

During interrogation Raghunath Chauhan accept his crime, he also told that another man helped him to buried his mother.

The Dead body of the mother sent for post-mortem at Karimganj Civil Hospital, to know the exact cause of death.

The motive behind the crime remains unclear as law enforcement officials continue their probe into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
