Assam Police in a joint operation with Military Intelligence has recovered explosive materials from Bhangarpar area of Cachar district, Assam on Saturday.
According to sources from Military Intelligence Kolkata, a raid has been carried out at the house of a man in the Bhangarpar area, Cachar. The man identified as Mushtaq Ahmed.
During the search operation they recovered 155 Gelatin Sticks, 150 Detonators and a fake pistol.
But Mushtaq Ahmed has managed to escape from the house upon learning about the operation. Investigation is under way to locate him and arrest him.
Earlier, on July 20 a large scale of assault rifles, handmade pistol and revolvers has recovered from Chirang district, Assam. The fire arms discovery was part of the Assam policeโs effort to eliminate militancy, according to the Director General of Police, Gyanendra Pratap Singh.
The recovered weapons were found near the Runikhata area along the India-Bhutan Border. The seized items included two handmade AK-series rifles, a revolver with five live bullets, six walkie-talkies, and three receivers.
