A tragic road accident took place in Gumrah area of Cachar district, where a school student died. The accident took place on September 24, afternoon.
The victim identified as Saniya Barbhuiya, student of Gumrah M.E of class 8. According to reports, the student was returning home after school. At that time, a speeding truck loaded with Gas cylinder struck her on Silchar-Gumrah National High Way 6, Cachar and the road accident took place.
Eyewitness reported that the accident took place in the afternoon time when she was walking along the road on way to home. The reportedly loss the control and struck her, which result immediate death at the spot.
After the incident the locals and school student gathered and staged protest at the site, blocked the road Silchar-Guwahati NH 6, demanding of justice.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and detained the truck driver, who involved in the accident. Further investigation is going on.
