“Resign in 10 Days or” Yogi Adityanath received death threat; woman detained

The Mumbai Traffic Police have reported, receiving a death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday. A threat was sent via WhatsApp from an unknown number, demanding that Adityanath resign within 10 days or face serious consequences. The message warns that he will be “killed like Baba Siddique,” referring to the recent murder of the former NCP leader, who was shot dead in Bandra last month.

The Mumbai Police detained a 24-year-old woman for allegedly giving the death threat to CM Yogi Adityanath on Sunday.

The detained woman, identified as Fatima Khan from Ulhasnagar area of Thane, Maharashtra. Police stated by news agency PTI, She has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, but is mentally unstable.

After receiving the threat message the authorities immediately alerted the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The ATS successfully traced the woman which believed to be connected to the threat.

In a joint operation with the local police the ATS team visited the house of the woman to conduct inquiry. After receiving information, she was detained by the police and taken to local police station.

For further interrogation, Fatima was bought to Mumbai. A senior IPS officer stated that she has not arrested; instead she was issued a notice following the questioning.

The Authorities also plan to conduct a mental check-up for the woman to assess her psychological condition.

The police are investigating the matter.
