Rahul Gandhi Speech in Lok Sabha on Hindus, BJP Expunged:
On Monday, July 1, 2024, in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi’s speech was expunged from the Lok Sabha’s record. He includes in his comment on Hindus Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP, and the RSS.
While addressing the media outside the parliament, Gandhi remarked, “In Modi’s world, the truth can be expunged, but in reality, the truth can’t be expunged. I said what I had to say; that is the truth. They can expunge as much as they want. Truth is truth.”
It was Rahul Gandhi’s first address as the leader of opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha. At the beginning of his speech, the Congress MP brandished a copy of the constitution and a photo of Lord Shiva while criticising the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

During Gandhi’s hour and 40-minute speech, PM Modi intervened twice, and at least five cabinet ministers interjected, with Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an apology. Gandhi, in response to protests from the ruling party, criticised the BJP by saying, “Aap hindu ho hi nahi.”.
