Pre Matric Scholarship to ST Students (Class 9,10) 2025

Pre-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Students has started online application from 15^th July and will continue till 25 September. Eligible student may apply for scholarship within end date of application. The students who are Class 9, 10 can apply.

Pre-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Students

The Scholarship is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by Ministry of Tribal Affairs to grant scholarship to eligible ST ST students for pursuing education in Classes IX and X. The scholarship is available for the Indian students only.

Objective of the Scholarship

To support ST children studying in classes IX and X so that the incidence of dropout, especially in transition from elementary to secondary stage is minimized, and ST students can have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

 SCOPE

Scholarship under the Scheme will be available to ST students for studies in India and will be directly transferred to the account of the student. The scholarship will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory to which the applicant belongs as per the terms of domicile decided by the State/UT.

Pre-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Students: Eligibility Criteria

The student should belong to Scheduled Tribe so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).

Student should have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.

The family income of student from all sources should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum.

The student should have a valid account in a Schedule Bank linked with Aadhar and Mobile number.

The student should not be getting any other scholarship.

Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she would not get scholarship for the same class twice. The student can renew scholarship for the next class when he/she is promoted.

Benefits of the Pre-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Students

Additional Disability Allowance: -In addition to scholarship, an additional grant of Rs. 800/- monthly (Rs. 9600 annually) will be given to the 5 Divyangjan student who is hosteler and Rs.600/monthly (Rs 7200 annually) to a day scholar.

How to Apply

Students applying the scholarship schemes must register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) using the “NSP OTR” app (available on Google Play Store). You must complete face authentication to generate your OTR number, which is mandatory for applying. Visit https://scholarships.gov.in for more details.

You must have an Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked with Aadhaar to generate the OTR.

Make sure to enter only active bank account details to receive the scholarship. The scholarship will disbursed through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode.

All schools and institutions must ensure that students applying for admission also apply for the scholarship through the IT portal on the same day they admitted.

The applicant should follow up with institutes for application verification before the deadline.

In case of renewal students, the student shall auto-renewed based on the attendance and confirmation from the institution of the student having promoted to the next class and having joined back the same course as hosteller/day scholar, as the case may be.

Selection of the Students

All the eligible ST candidates will given scholarships subject to the condition of eligibility prescribed in the Scheme, Candidates belonging to one State, but studying in another State, will awarded scholarship by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authorities in that State.
