Post-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Student has started online application from 15th July and will continue till 25 September. Eligible student may apply for scholarship within end date of application. The students who are in graduate, Class 11, 12, post graduate can apply.

Post-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Student

The Scholarship is a  Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by Ministry of Tribal Affairs to grant scholarship to eligible ST students for pursuing higher education starting from class XI to Post Graduation courses in India. Students will be provided financial assistance at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage up to Rs 12,000. The scholarship is available for the Indian students only.

Objective of the Scholarship

To enable eligible Scheduled Tribe students to undertake quality education from Post Matric to Post Graduate level by providing them financial assistance.

To create an error free platform ensuring that the targeted beneficiaries receive scholarship on time.

 SCOPE

These scholarships shall be available for studies in India only and will awarded by the Government of State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled.

Post-Matric Scholarship 2025 to ST Students: Eligibility Criteria

The student should belong to Scheduled Tribe so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).

Student should have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.

The family income of student from all sources should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum.

The student should have a valid account in a Schedule Bank linked with Aadhar and Mobile number.

The student should not be getting any other scholarship.

The scholarships will be given for study of recognized post-matriculation/ postsecondary courses, recognized by the concerned approving authority, pursued in following category of Institutions/Universities/Colleges.  

  • All Government Institutes/Colleges/Universities
  • Institutions of National Importance.
  • Central University/ State university/ Autonomous colleges recognized by UGC and Universities/ Colleges recognized under section 2(f) and/or 12(b) of UGC Act; iv. Deemed Universities;
  • Private Universities recognized by State/Centre with ‘A’ level or equivalent accreditation by NAAC, NBA;
  • Private Professional Institutions affiliated to a recognized Central/State University
  • Schools /colleges recognized by Govt/Govt aided for Classes XI to class XII;
  • Diploma granting Institutions as recognized by State/UT Governments;
  • Vocational Training Institute affiliated to National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT);
  • Institutions affiliated/approved by the appropriate bodies like MCI/AICTE etc or any regulatory body established by State/Centre as approving authority for particular course.

How to Apply

Students applying the scholarship schemes must register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) using the “NSP OTR” app (available on Google Play Store). You must complete face authentication to generate your OTR number, which is mandatory for applying. Visit https://scholarships.gov.in for more details.

You must have an Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked with Aadhaar to generate the OTR.

Make sure to enter only active bank account details to receive the scholarship. The scholarship will disbursed through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode.

All schools and institutions must ensure that students applying for admission also apply for the scholarship through the IT portal on the same day they are admitted.

In case of renewal students, the student shall auto-renewed based on the attendance and confirmation from the institution of the student having promoted to the next class and having joined back the same course as hosteller/day scholar, as the case may be.

Selection of the Students

All the eligible ST  candidates will given scholarships subject to the condition of eligibility prescribed in the Scheme, Candidates belonging to one State, but studying in another State, will awarded scholarship by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authorities in that State.
