Guwahati police bust Major cyber fraud ring and arrested 15 person in connection of it.
In a special operation against cyber criminals, Gorchuk Police Station launched a raid at Talukdar hotels & Lodge in Bamunpara Road of Boaragaon, Guwahati last night (November 13). In this raid police managed to arrest 15 frauds.
Following questioning, the Cyber PS unearthed a network of “Mule Bank Account” network to launder money by Cyber Criminals.
According to police reports, this Gang used to trick uneducated or unassuming people to open bank account in their name, using their credential for a sum ₹20,000/- while the gang made ₹80,000/- after selling it off to Cyber Criminals. These criminals then use these accounts to transact defrauded money of victims.
The arrested 15 frauds are: Shah Alam (29) of Barpeta, Azizul Hoque (25) of Barpeta, Alamin Khan (25) of Koyakuchi, Rubul Hussain Khan (37) of Barpeta, Kazi Saddam Hussain (32) of Barpeta Sadar, Abdul Kalam (31) of Barpeta Sadar, Azim Uddin Ali (37) of Barpeta road & Hasan Ali (36) of Barpeta.
Police also seized 31 Mobile Handsets, 36 ATM Cards, 21 Cheque Books, 7 Stamp, 4 Car, 1 Bike, 4 Portable Drive, 1 Laptop and Other equipments like wrench, tester, screw drivers, plus etc.
Further investigation is going on.
