POCSO Convict Prisoner Escapes from Kokrajhar Jail, Jail Superintendent Suspended

A Prisoner has escaped from Kokrajhar Jail on March 16. The jail Superintendent suspended after the prisoner escaped.

The prisoner identified as Hazrat Ali, a POCSO Convict. He managed to flee from the jail during jail colony was being cleaned. The prisoner took advantage of the situation and escape.

Ali was convicted under Section 4(2)/17 of the POCSO Act and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Following the prisoner escapes incident the Superintendent of the Jail filed an FIR at Kokrajhar Sadar Police Station. Currently Police investigation is going to catch the prisoner. In response to the Escape incident, the Jail Superintendent Rabiram Ingti suspended from the post. The Additional Commissioner has been appointed at the place of Jail Superintendent.
