A distressful incident came out to know at Dholai Cachar, a newborn baby dead body found partially eaten by street Dogs on Saturday.
It is known that the dead body was discovered by passerby, late Saturday night near a roadside thicket in Dholai, Cachar where stray dogs were feeding on the remains.
The man immediately chassed the dogs from feeding the dead body and managed to retrieve the dead body. However, by then the dogs has eaten significant portion of the dead body.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the locals as the news of the recovery of the infant dead body spread. The police were informed.
Police arrived at the scene and sent the infant dead body for medical examination.
Residents believe the mother may have left the baby. Locals have condemned the act and called for strict punishment for those responsible.
