A heinous crime took place in Meerut, where a Merchant Navy Officer brutally murder by his wife and her lover. To hide the crime wife and her lover cut him into pieces and places the body parts in a plastic drum and filled with cement.

The former London based Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput (29) came to home at Meerut to celebrate his wifeโs and daughter birthday on February 24. But who think that it was his last celebration. He was murdered by his wife on March 4 and after almost 15 days later his decomposed dead body recovered on March 18.

How did the Gruesome murder took place in Meerut?
Muskan Rastogi, the wife of merchant Saurabh Rajput who murdered in Meerut planned the murder with the help of hid lover Sahil. She allegedly tricked Sahil into believing that his late mother was communicating with him through Snapchat from beyond the grave. She convinced him that his mother had reincarnated and was guiding him.
By February she purchased two knives with long blades which she knew about the Saurabh was scheduled to return home. She bought the knives by stating the shopkeeper she would use the blades to cut chicken. She purchased sedatives from local drug store acted stressed, a source quoted in the PTI reported.

Two murdered attempt on Saurabh
Saurabh Rajput had come to home on February 24, 2025. The next day, the duo (wife and her lover) attempt first murder. Wife Muskan served him sedative mixed food but on this day he only slept deeply without falling unconscious. So, it failed.
On March 4, Muskan again served him sedative mixed food in dinner, which felt him unconscious. She with her lover then stabbed and cut him into pieces. After that they both dismembered Saurabh body parts and attempt to conceal it. They first places the parts of the body in a blue plastic drum and filled it with cement. They had already sent six years old daughter at her grandmother house.
“The initial plan was to dispose of the body parts in a secluded location, but the duo eventually decided to keep it inside a large blue drum, filling it with cement and sand,” Meerut SP Ayush Vikram Singh told PTI.
To cover the crime Muskan and Sahil duo travelled to Himachal Pradesh, before returning to Meerut on March 17.
How did the Meerut Merchant Navy Officer Murder Uncover?

Muskan’s mother, Kavita Rastogi, recounted the horrifying moment she learned about the crime. “On March 18, I received a call from my daughter, Muskan. She was crying, so I asked if she had fought with Saurabh. They had arguments before, but I never imagined something like this could happen. I told her to come home,” she said.
The next day, when Muskan arrived, Kavita asked about Saurabhโs whereabouts. Muskan fell silent before finally confessing, “He has been murdered.” She claimed that Saurabh was unwilling to leave his family. Shocked and in disbelief, Kavita pressed for details, asking why she had not raised an alarm despite staying with them for 15 days. Sensing her daughterโs hesitation, she warned her to tell the truth before the police forced it out.
Confession and Familyโs Reaction
Muskanโs father reassured her, making her believe he was on her side. Feeling secure, she finally admitted, “Mummy, I killed Saurabh with the help of a boy.” The confession left her parents in shock.
Kavita, devastated by the revelation, demanded justice for Saurabh. “I am not saying this for show. We also have a son, and now someone else’s child has been killed. My God knows, my children knowโI respected my son-in-law, and he respected us too. My daughter deserves to be hanged. He (son-in-law) was like a god, but my daughter turned out to be a witch,” she lamented.
Police Intervention and Gruesome Discovery of dead body
Shocked by their daughter’s admission, Muskanโs parents immediately alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough interrogation, unraveling the gruesome details of the murder. The investigation led them to a sealed, foul-smelling cement drum inside the house. Authorities spent hours attempting to open it, ultimately uncovering the horrifying truth.

A local court has remanded both accused to 14-day judicial custody. During their court appearance on Wednesday, a group of lawyers attempted to assault them, even grabbing Sahil’s clothes.
Amid the commotion, police officers struggled to control the situation and protect the accused.
