Major fire broke out at a food processing factory in Panikhati, Kamrup outskirts of Guwahati, last night, Tuesday, which caused massive damage.

According to report, the fire broke out at Krishna Food Product Factory, which is a soyabean processing factory late on Tuesday. The flames spread rapidly through the factory, which caused significant damage.

Two fire tenders dispatched immediately and after several hours the fire officials managed to bring the blaze under control.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have started the fire, though a full investigation is still ongoing. Authorities are estimating the financial losses, which are believed to be significant.
