A team of Special Investigation Team of Mumbai Police arrested Sahil Khan who is an actor as well as fitness influencer. He was arrested from Jagdal district of Chhattisgarh in connection with Mahadev Betting App case. The news of it has said by Lakhim Gautam a Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Crime Branch on Sunday.
Sahil Khan arrested on Saturday from Chhattisgarh following Bombay High Court’s denial of his pre-arrest bail plea.
According to media an officer told, “He was on the run for 40 hours, moving from Goa to Karnataka, then to Hyderabad, and was finally apprehended in Jagdalpur. We will bring him before a local court.”
An Investigation is going on, againt Sahil Khan and other 31 individuals.
What is Mahadev betting App?
The Mahadev betting app, suspected of facilitating illegal gambling on various games such as poker, card games, badminton, tennis, football, and cricket. This is currently under investigation by the crime branch. The investigation focuses on purported unlawful transactions involving certain financial and real estate firms within the state and the promoters of the Mahadev betting application.
Actor Sahil Khan accused of running a betting website and promoting illegal betting. His name came up during the investigation of the Mahadev betting app case by the Matunga Police in Mumbai.
The story began in December 2023 when the Mumbai Cyber Cell’s SIT sent a summons to Sahil Khan and three others, asking them to come for questioning. However, Khan didn’t respond to the summons, leading law enforcement to increase efforts to find and arrest him.
The alleged size of the scam said to be around Rs. 15,000 crore, according to the First Information Report (FIR) filed in the case. One of the main accused, Ravi Uppal, was located in Dubai last year by local authorities, based on a red corner notice issued by Interpol at the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
