On 26 April 2024, Silchar Lok Sabha election is going to be held. In this election voters will have a lot of choices, as there are eight candidates running from different parties and two independent ones, giving people a wide range of options.

Some of the main candidates are Radheshyam Biswas from the Trinamool Congress, Suryakanta Sarkar from Congress, and Parimal Suklabaidya from the BJP. These candidates have got a lot of support from their parties and are expected to have a tough competition.

But it’s not just these big parties. There are other candidates too. Prabhas Chandra Sarkar is running from SUCI(C), Barindra Kumar Das from Bengali Nababirman Sena, and Rajib Das from Bahujan Party. Silchar is divided into seven parts. These parts are Lakhipur, Udharbond, Katigorah, Borkhola, Silchar, Sonai, and Dholai (SC). Each parts has more than 1,000 polling stations. In total, there are 1,351,496 voters, including 676,331 men, 675,141 women, and 24 transgender individuals. Each part plays a role in shaping Silchar’s election scene.
