The 8 years old boy Avilash Sarkar who swept away by flood water of roadside drain in the area of Jyoti Nagar, Guwahati on Thursday is still missing. His one sandal has recovered from a drain.
Despite intensive effort by the SDRF team and Guwahati city police the little boy Avilash is still missing for 40 hours. The rescue team has used Powerful suction machines and excavators to remove slabs for searching the boy. All the drains of the area are being searching. They just managed to recovered sandal of the boy.
According to reports, the Avilash Sarkar 8 years old and his father was returning home on a scooter. Another man was also with them during heavy rainfall last night when they were returning home. Due to heavy rain the road become slippery. Suddenly, due to slippery road, the scooter slipped and the boy who was sitting in the middle fell into the drain. In an instant, the strong current of the drain carried hum away.
To save the little boy the father also jumped in the drain, but he couldnโt able to find.
According to mother of the boy, he and his father was returning with scooter when the incident occurred. It was raining at the time when they was returning. Due to low visibility and slippery road the scooter skidded and Avilash fall into the drain.
Mayor of GMC said, โThe water of the drain goes to Choonsali and Chandmari. The drains have been dug up in search of boy. All the departments are actively working to find him.โ
Search Operation is still going on.
