On 12 March 2024 a sting operating held by a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam to trap the Lat Mandal after a complaint was file against him of bribery. In this trap a Lat Mandal of Bongaigaon has trapped red handed while accepting bribe.
The Lat Mandal identified as Gendu Mohan Nath, officer of the Baitamari Revenue Circle Office under Bongaigaon District.
According to information the Lat Mondal arrested when he trapped red handed by a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam when he was accepting bribe. He was accepting bribe in his office for the correction of land records.
The news about the trapped has announced by Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption in their social media page. They wrote, “Today Directorate of Vigilance & Anti Corrution, Assam trapped red handed Gendu Mohan Nath, Lot Mandal, O/O the Circle Officer, Baitamari Revenue Circle, Dist-Bongaigaon, after he accepted demanded bribe in the office from the complainant for correction of land records.
Earlier, An ASI of Cachar District has trapped red handed and arrested for accepting bribe of Rs. 6000 which was reduced to Rs.4000. The ASI identified as Noman Uddin Ahmed of Ghungoor OP under Silchar PS, Dist-Cachar. He accepted demanded bribe from the complainant for handing over the stolen motorcycle of the owner who complainant for stolen. However instead of returning the vehicle to the owner, ASI Noman Uddin Ahmed allegedly demanded a bribe in exchange of vehicle.
