A henieous incident was reported in Chandkhira, Karimganj, where a teacher was accused of sexually assaulting a minor school girl on August 16.

A teacher at Ishwar Chandra Vidyaniketan School, KArimganj has been accused of sexual assaulting and molesting a minor school student. Ishwar Chandra Vidyaniketan is a private school in the area of Chandkhira, Karimganj, in Assam.
The accused teacher was identified as Zahir Uddin. He is currently on the run after the crime.
According to information, the incident took place when Zahir Uddin allegedly attempted to molest the girl student in the classroom. When the news of the assault spread, a large number of locals, including women, gathered on the school premises in demand of justice.
The protest soon turned violent, and the angered crowd entered the school and began vandalizing school property. They also set fire to the school furniture and blocked the road. This protest disrupts the area. The Patharkandi Police arrived at the scene and took control of the situation. Locals leading the protest demanded strict punishment for the accused teacher and the immediate closure of Ishwar Chandra Vidyaniketan
