Karimganj Police seized Rs. 9 Crore worth drugs

Karimganj Police and Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered and seized a huge amount of Yaba Tablet and arrested two individuals in connection of it.

Karimganj Police and Border Security Force jointly launched an operation in the area of Karimganj. They intercepted an auto rickshaw at Chararpar Road, Ramkrishna Nagar, Karimganj and search the auto rickshaw. By searching it police recovered and seized 30,000 of Yaba Tablet. The market of the seized items would be Rs. 9 Crore.

They also arrested two persons in connection of it. Arrested drug peddler identified as, Atikur Rahman and Aharul Islam of Chararpar area. The vehicle which was used to transport the drugs also seized.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the effort of Officials. He took his social media platform and stated, “In a joint operation by @karimganjpolice and BSF G Branch, Karimganj, 30,000 YABA tablets valued at ₹9cr was seized from a vehicle. Two people have been apprehended in this connection.

Apart of this, in the same day another operation launched by the Karimganj Police in Sarisha area of Karimganj. From the area at around 2.00 am Police caught two people in the high way and recovered 9 soap cases containing 106 grams of heroin.

Earlier, On June 12 Karimganj Police seized 2.2 Lakh of Yaba Tablet from Badarpur, Karimganj and arrested three people in connection of it. The market value of seized items would be 66 Crore.
